who would have thunk it, quiet as be damned this summer and then a whole wedge of work pops up to keep us eating microwave meals at our computers til christmas. Its a wonderful complaint to have!
we’re working on some animated segments for a new RTE show that goes on air this winter. A series of unrelated, abstract and bizarre animations to punctuate the show and give the viewer a bit of pause for thought, or “what the fuck was that?”
Its myself and Eoin back working with Colm and Kev from Red Gorilla for another bash at the montrose bandwagon. yeeeeehawr!
been a while since i updated any info here but myself and Eoin were asked by Eoghan Kidney to do some animation for an upcoming Underworld video he is working on. The video is shot and being edited. We provided animated visuals and text that were put into a real world environment during the small hours of the night in what should be a really exciting looking video. More info as soon as we get a sneak peek at the edit.
langerland.tv series one is now on RTE. Episode one started last monday 8th of september and will run each monday for 10 weeks (repeated on friday nights too), at 11pm on RTE 2. We’re delighted its finally made it on air nearly a year after it was finished.
All feedback is appreciated. Hope you enjoy the series. We’re currently working on wrapping up series two with the langerland lads and will post any expected air date as soon as we know it.
We were asked by the lovely lads over at Red Gorilla to contribute our animation 2 cents worth and work with them on their new series Langerland. The series was sent to tape in November and a few tears were shed at the wrapping up of what was a very enjoyable 6months work on what will hopefully be a an animated series that captures peoples attention. Theres certainly some talking points in there. Its scheduled to air as part of RTE’s winter season 2008. In the meantime check out where it all began at www.langerland.com (its feckin’ deadly boy)
Hopefully I’ll get to post up some images/videos/links as the series goes to air.
We were asked to create a short ten second animated intro for the new tv series No Bearla (made by Dearg Films) that will be aired on RTE this year. This intro deals briefly with Peig Seyers anger at the presenters (Mancan) journey to discover gan aon focail as gaeilge againn no go bhfuilimid gan an teanga naisuinta nuair aon duine ag iarraidh caint as gaeilge linn. (apologies for the woeful irish. i gave it a shot. any corrections greatfully appreciated).
Well we’ve been drafted in to do a stop motion animation workshop with The Ark and the IFI on weekend of 28&29 July. We’ll be showing a group of about 12 children the basics of stop motion animation and working with them to create short animated film trailers which we hope to have up on youtube when they’re finished.
Details of festival are here: http://www.ark.ie/programme/event004.html
UPDATE: The two videos created for the toys workshop can be viewed below:
We were asked by Richard at Candy (www.candyculture.net) to produce a promo piece of animation for the launch of PSP+ME event in Project Arts Centre, Dublin. Several groups of animators, filmmakers, designers, illustrators and fashion people were also involved and contributes their own pieces of work. The body of work will be available to download from www.pspandme.ie soon (apparently). We were given the theme of ‘excitement’ and so devised a very abstract animated short dealing with the subject. No drugs were harmed during the making of this….
we created this promo for Luke Viberts single 'I Love Acid'. Its a piece we're really fond of and involved a good few of us colaborating closely on different parts (characters, background, compositing, extra animation, etc) of the video to turn this around in 3 weeks. It got a feature on the Warpvision dvd which we're very proud to be featured alongside Pleix, Chris Cunningham and other well known filmmakers.
